Xbox Live Rewards Transition FAQ
You’ll have until May 31, 2018 to earn MyVIP Gems and unlock any new MyVIP Perks. You’ll then have until June 15, 2018 to claim any open MyVIP Perks and to redeem any unused MyVIP Gems in your Xbox Live Rewards account for prizes from the MyVIP Vault. After this date any unredeemed MyVIP Gems will be converted to Microsoft Rewards points and can be used to redeem rewards from the Microsoft Rewards catalog once your membership is transitioned. One MyVIP Gem will convert to one Microsoft Rewards point.
Similar to Xbox Live Rewards, Microsoft Rewards will offer punch cards, surveys, and more, plus featured offers on games, movies, and TV shows, but the way you access these offers and how you’re able to use your earned points is changing. In addition, you’ll also have the opportunity to earn bonus points on online purchases made at the Microsoft Store. Read the rest of the FAQ to learn more about other changes you can expect between Xbox Live Rewards and Microsoft Rewards.
One Microsoft Rewards point is equal to one Xbox Live Rewards Credit. Microsoft Rewards points can be redeemed whenever you want for the rewards you choose from the Microsoft Rewards catalog, including Microsoft Store digital gift cards. Xbox Live Rewards Credits are automatically converted to your local currency every two weeks and deposited in your Microsoft account, while MyVIP Gems could be redeemed for items in the MyVIP Vault.
No. Microsoft Points were retired several years ago and are unrelated to Microsoft Rewards. Microsoft Rewards points have the same value as Xbox Live Rewards Credits.
You can redeem your points for Microsoft Store digital gift cards, Skype Credits, Xbox Live Gold memberships, sweepstakes, charitable donations, and more.
Yes. There are 2 tiers in Microsoft Rewards; Level 1 and Level 2. Click here for more information.
MyVIP Star Ranks are not part of the Microsoft Rewards program. If you are an Xbox Live Rewards member with a MyVIP Star Rank and you transition to Microsoft Rewards, you will receive special benefits in Microsoft Rewards for a promotional period through December 31, 2023. Click here to learn more.
We don’t have any information to share right now, but Microsoft Rewards will continue to find new ways to reward members.
Yes, as long as those improvements are made before May 31, 2018.
You will no longer be able to access your Xbox Live Rewards MyChallenges, MyStats, MyAchievements tiers, or your VIP Badges after June 15, 2018.
Instead of heading to MyMissions to find your current offers, you will now visit the Microsoft Rewards account dashboard to find your active offers. New offers are added regularly, so be sure to visit often. MyCommunity will no longer be accessible after May 31, 2018.
